This can occur when using Kerberos and a service principal name (SPN) mismatch occurs. Windows machines will fall back to using NTLMv2, while Macs, being unable to use NLTM, start failing.

The root cause is the failure in Kerberos authentication on the server - the account simply is not able to log in for some reason.

The options in this case are:

1. Modify the OS file /etc/krb5.conf to allow weaker encryption types
2. Create file %JAVA_HOME%/lib/security/krb5.conf and allow weaker encryption types.
