EasyTime can align the starting times of work logs to a [time grid](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/EasyTime/pages/4980754) composed of the time slots equal in duration to the [minimal unit of time](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/EasyTime/pages/4882447) configured.

For example, with the default setting of 15 minutes and aligning enabled, this will result in work logs starting at 9:00 AM, 9:15 AM, 9:30 AM, and 9:45 AM if no [silent merges](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/EasyTime/pages/4981121) occur for the sequential work logs created for the same [type of event](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/EasyTime/pages/4883003) on the same issue.

The alternative, without aligning, when [conflict resolution](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/EasyTime/pages/4882953) comes into play may result in a more fine-grained timesheet, e.g. a 5-minute view issue work log starting at 9:00 AM and a 15-minute comment on issue work log starting at 9:05 AM.
