EasyTime for Bitbucket is a *companion app* for EasyTime for Jira. If you spent time in a pull request with a linked Jira issue, EasyTime for Bitbucket will automatically log time on that issue.

## Instructions for Bitbucket Cloud

### Step 1: Ensure EasyTime for Jira is installed and configured

If you have not already, you must first install and [configure](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/EasyTime/pages/5309085) EasyTime for Jira.

### Step 2: Link EasyTime for Bitbucket with EasyTime for Jira

EasyTime for Bitbucket works on a per-user basis. Once EasyTime for Jira is configured, each user needs to link EasyTime for Bitbucket to EasyTime for Jira.

1. Obtain a personal integration token by following the Cloud section in this guide: [Creating a Token for EasyTime](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/EasyTime/pages/5407115)
2. On Bitbucket, navigate to any pull request with a linked issue, and go to the 'overview' tab
3. Find and open the EasyTime panel on the right-hand side of the screen
4. Click 'Configure'
5. Paste the integration token you obtained from EasyTime for Jira into the panel
6. Click save

### Step 3: Test that the link is working

You can check that EasyTime for Bitbucket is working by following these steps:

1. On Jira, ensure no work is logged in the current time slot. You can navigate to any issue and open the My Day panel to check.
2. On Bitbucket, navigate to any pull request with a linked issue
3. Comment on the pull request
4. Check your timesheets in the My Day panel in Jira. you should see an automatic log created for your comment.

## Instructions for Bitbucket Data Center 

### Step 1: Ensure EasyTime for Jira is installed and configured

If you have not already, you must first install and [configure](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/EasyTime/pages/5309085) EasyTime for Jira

### Step 2: Create an Application Link

To set up EasyTime for Bitbucket you need to create an [Application Link](https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/link-to-other-applications-938846918.html) between your Bitbucket and Jira instances.

1. Ensure you have an admin account on both Jira and Bitbucket
2. Navigate to your Bitbucket Instance and click on the settings icon on the top right-hand corner of the page.
3. Go to the "Application Links" tab in the left-hand side panel.
4. Click the "Create link" button on the top right-hand side of the page.
5. In the "Application URL" box, enter the base URL of your Jira instance and click on "Continue."
6. Click "Continue" again
7. You will now be automatically redirected to your Jira instance to create the reciprocal link. A similar pop-up "Link Applications" will appear after you are redirected. Click "Continue" again in Jira.
8. You will now be redirected back to Bitbucket which will finish linking the applications. After a few seconds you should now see the connected link.

### Step 3: Authenticating with Jira

Now you have created the Application Link, each user will have to Authenticate Bitbucket with Jira in order to have the EasyTime integration track their time in Bitbucket.

- Scroll down to the Jira Issues section on the home page and click "Authenticate."
- Alternatively you can click on an Jira issue link on a pull request page.
  - Click the link to "Your Company Jira."
  - You be will be redirected to Jira where to allow access. Click "Allow" to Authenticate.

### Step 3: Test that the link is working

You can check that EasyTime for Bitbucket is working by following these steps:

1. On Jira, ensure no work is logged in the current time slot. You can navigate to any issue and open the My Day panel to check.
2. On Bitbucket, navigate to any pull request with a linked issue
3. Comment on the pull request
4. Check your timesheets in the My Day panel in Jira. you should see an automatic log created for your comment.
