## Getting Started

For our reports to function we require a managed organisation source to be set up. To add a source, follow [Jira Cloud Getting Started](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/UM/pages/4948268/Getting+Started+with+User+Management+for+Jira+Cloud#Connecting-a-Source) or [Confluence Cloud Getting Started](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/UM/pages/4620633/Getting+Started+with+User+Management+for+Confluence+Cloud#Connecting-a-Source).

## Understanding the User Activity Chart

The User Activity Chart Report is designed to identify active users who have not been using Atlassian Cloud. It can be found under the Reports tab.

You can install User Management into a Jira or Confluence Cloud instance and immediately see when users last used Atlassian Cloud. If you want to deactivate users, you can run a [Bulk Action](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/UM/pages/4620532) to perform tasks on that set of users in the chart.

Here is what the report looks like when opening it for the first time on Cloud with a source already added:

### What does it mean?

1. Source: If you have multiple Managed Organization sources on your instance, you can select which organisation you want to see the activity for.
2. Pie Chart:  Shows a visual presentation of the table and allows clicking of a segment to perform a [Bulk Action](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/UM/pages/4620532) on those users.
3. Table: Shows the number of active users in your organization, and when clicked, will perform a [Bulk Actions](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/UM/pages/4620532) user search.

> ℹ️ The User Insights chart is currently only for [Managed Users](https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/what-are-managed-accounts/) in Atlassian Cloud. The chart also shows both billable and non-billable users for the organisation.

## Understanding the Licensed User Report

The Licensed User Report is designed to group active users into their sites, enabling you to see which sites use the most licenses easily. The report updates daily, so the data may be delayed by up to 24 hours.

Each user is counted only once per site, even if they have access to multiple apps within a site. For example, the organisation has Confluence and Jira under the same site. John is both a Confluence and Jira user, Paul is only a Jira user, and Tamara is a Confluence user. The total number of users under the site will be 3, as there are three unique users.

The report does not include users with access to an app but who are not billable. This includes Confluence Guests, Jira Service Management Customers, and deactivated/suspended users.

### What does it mean?

1. Pie Chart: Shows the relative number of unique licensed users in each site.
2. Table: This shows the number of unique users per site and the overall percentage of users from the organisation.
3. Tab Menu: Each report is assigned to a tab. To view it, select the ‘Licensed User Report’ tab.
