- **Does User Management require you to configure a separate API key?**

No, the built in Jira Cloud source does not require a separate API key. This type of User Management source supports a limited range of user search filters and bulk actions.

However, to support the full range of filters and actions you need to [connect to an Atlassian Organization by generating an API Key](https://techtime-website.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/UM/pages/4948268/Getting+Started+with+User+Management+for+Jira+Cloud#Connecting-an-Atlassian-Organization).

- **Which users can the Atlassian Organization source manage**

An Atlassian Organization source can manage:

- Any Atlassian user with an email domain that is claimed by your organization ([Managed User](https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/what-are-managed-accounts/))
- Any Atlassian user with access to any site or product within your organization (Unmanaged User)

- **Do I need to pay for Atlassian Guard to use the Atlassian Organization source**

No. You do not need to pay for Atlassian Guard to enable an Atlassian Organization source. In order to make the most of an Atlassian Organization source source you’ll need to verify your company’s domain and claim users under that domain as managed accounts. You can verify your domain by going to [https://admin.atlassian.com/](https://admin.atlassian.com/) -> Settings -> Domains -> Verify your company domain

- **Why are deleted users showing as inactive**

For the built in Jira Cloud source, when users are deleted their basic information like name, email are still retained. Therefore when searching for users they are marked as inactive instead of being completely absent like on data centre. This behaviour is specific to Jira Cloud as part of its data retention approach.

- **Can you schedule user actions on User Management Cloud? **

Yes, you can automate user actions for Atlassian Organization sources. Once you have added an organization source. Go to the “Scheduled actions” tab to add a scheme, or manage existing automation schemes
